Do you unnecessarily carry a big fat wallet in your back pocket? While some people will assume having a fat wallet automatically makes you filthy rich, you know the truth isn’t as flattering: the large size of the wallet is because it’s stuffed to the brim with cards, paper receipts, coins and some cash. Sitting on a wallet like that can be very uncomfortable and will eventually destroy your back. So what do you do when you can’t go the minimalist route and need a regular-sized wallet that will carry all your stuff? Try a Big Skinny wallet!

More about the Big Skinny Slimline Bi-Fold Wallet
For our Big Skinny wallet review, we’ll take a look at the primary features of this product, including the size, capacity, material, ease of use and how good it looks.
The wallet is about 4.5 inches x 3.5 inches (height x length), which is as big as an ordinary wallet. However, the wallet is just 4mm thin – which is thinner than the thinnest smartphone in the market. The thin size makes it barely noticeable when you slip it in your back pocket and sit on it. It’s small enough and light enough to fit in your front pocket too, without a noticeable bulge. According to the maker, the Big Skinny wallet is 3 times lighter as well as thinner compared to a normal wallet.
For a super thin wallet, it has a high capacity. You’ll be able to fit in 4-5 cards in the card pockets and the ID slots. There are 2 hidden pockets where you can place 4 additional cards as well as pictures or other items. There’s room enough in the bifold pocket for a large amount of currency. It will also hold your receipts, without a noticeable bulge. If you don’t carry too much currency, you could fit 20 cards inside without too much trouble.
They’ve used something called as Nylon Microfiber for this version of the wallet. The material is noticeably slicker and shinier than ordinary leather or canvas. It won’t get scratched as easily and is much more flexible and durable. You can drop the wallet and it won’t get damaged noticeably. Most importantly, perhaps, is the fact that it’s water resistant. A little bit of water won’t harm your money or cards, if the wallet gets wet.
Ease of use
The wallet is smartly designed. In fact, it is noticeably easier to open and use than a leather wallet. The card slots are easy to get to, as is the currency pocket. The Nylon can be gripped easily with your fingers, even when the wallet is open. You won’t have too much trouble retrieving your money or cards quickly when you’re traveling.
The Big Skinny wallet looks great. There are a variety of colors to pick from like black, brown, gray, and blue. The stitching on it looks slick and uniform, and the wallet itself is shiny without being flashy. It’s definitely one of the better looking wallets in the market for its price range.
What’s so good about Big Skinny?
Big Skinny Slimline Bi-Fold Slim Wallets (as well as the other wallets in the family) are much lighter and thinner than ordinary wallets. The Nylon Microfiber makes it thin, durable and water resistant. You can treat the wallet roughly without the fear of tear and stains. You could take it with you while you play your favorite sport – like biking or skiing – without worrying about the contents falling out or getting wet. The material is highly durable and highly resistant to stress and strain.
The wallet also has extra-wide pockets. If you struggle to fit your cards in your wallet or have trouble retrieving them, this feature might make for a good change. The pockets have a special anti-slip coating that prevents money from falling out. If you flip the wallet upside down and shake it, your money and cards will remain inside (most of the times).
Perhaps their best feature is the thinness. The microfiber is about 10 times thinner than ordinary leather or canvas. You could sit on the wallet even when it’s stuffed without feeling uncomfortable.
