The Radix One Slim Wallet is an ultra-thin wallet perfect for minimalists. If you’ve always had trouble fitting a bulging leather wallet in your back pocket or have trouble when sitting on one, then this front-pocket wallet is the answer to all your prayers. It replaces the usual bi-fold and tri-fold design with a single slot, which drastically reduces the amount of space it takes up. You can comfortably fit it in anywhere – including your back and front pockets – and just forget about it.
In this Radix One Slim Wallet review, we’re going to give you a better look at the product and see how it compares with a top competitor in its segment.

Do you really need to carry so much stuff?
We tend to carry a lot of things in our wallets – some of which are wholly unnecessary in this digital age. A typical wallet is filled to the brim with cards, receipts, scraps of paper, and (of course) bills. While you probably do need to use your credit cards or ID pretty often, you don’t need to use your loyalty card or insurance card all that much. A minimalist wallet like the Radix One Slim only has room for essential cards and some money. That frees up a lot of space and makes your wallet much lighter. Every merchant these days accepts mobile payments. If you’re a fan of the cashless payment method, an ultra-thin wallet for your cards would free up a lot of space for you.
A Better Look at the Radix One Slim Wallet
At just 2 inches long, 3.5 inches wide and 0.5 inches deep, the Radix One Slim Wallet is very tiny. It is designed to easily slide into the average front pocket. Even if you usually carry a lot of things in there – like keys and your smartphone – you won’t have any trouble fitting the wallet in. The weight of the wallet is almost non-existent. Regular leather wallets can get really heavy and always remind you of their presence. With this wallet, though, you’ll have to pat yourself down to make sure it’s still there.
The wallet is made out of an injection molded plastic called Polycarbonate. It’s very durable and doesn’t break easily. Even though this is a front-pocket wallet, you can put it in your back pocket and sit on it without any trouble. The notches in the plastic panels are designed to provide a better grip to the user, allowing you to remove money with little trouble. A silicone band holds the plastic panels together and is designed to hold your cash by gripping it against the plastic. Silicone doesn’t bend or break easily (unlike rubber).
The manufacturers have eliminated the usual partition that’s found inside a wallet. Instead of having separate sections for your cards and money, everything can be neatly fitted in a single slot – which is a space saver. You can put up to 10 cards inside it. You can also fold and slip in a few bills with the cards. The Silicone band that holds the plastic panel together also holds a small roll of bills.
The material the wallet is made out of doesn’t slide out of your hand very easily. The cards that fit in the front can be retrieved very quickly, but you’ll have a spot of trouble trying to remove cards in the center and the back. Thanks to the ultra-thin nature of the wallet, a scanner or reader can scan a card inside it (a front-facing card) without you having to remove it. The silicon band is strong enough to hold your cash safely, without the danger of it falling out.
The wallet isn’t standout in the looks department, but it’s not an eyesore. The manufacturer has designed it to be unobtrusive, though the large silicone band that wraps around it is available in an eye-catching red or cyan. The plastic – especially if you choose the grey option – can look low-quality/generic.
Radix One vs. the Ridge
The Radix One is pretty similar to the Ridge wallet. The Ridge wallet happens to be more expensive and is available in a variety of colors. When we go Radix One vs. the Ridge Wallet, what’s the result? The Ridge is built with sturdy metal and has RFID protection. It also looks better than the Radix One. However, Radix One Slim is significantly cheaper and lighter. RFID is also not a necessary feature – it is considered by many to be a marketing gimmick. If you’re looking for something cheap and durable, the Radix One is the better choice. If you absolutely must have RFID, the Radix manufacturer also offers a steel version with the feature. The steel version also happens to be much more durable, but the trade off is the increased weight.
- Ultra-thin, easily fits into your front pockets
- Durable design, suitable for everyday use
- Ultra light, no more lugging around a heavy wallet
- Silicone band that snugly holds your money

- Can be hard to retrieve all your cards quickly
- No RFID feature
- Can’t fit large cards

- Fitting in less than 5 cards and more than 11 can impact functionality
Should you buy the Radix One?
The Radix One Slim Wallet isn’t for everyone. If you’re a minimalist by nature and love efficiency, you’ll love the wallet. On the other hand, if you really insist on carrying around a lot of cash with you, all your credit cards as well as a bunch of receipts, you should look elsewhere. The wallet – small enough to fit on the palm of your hand - encourages you to get rid of a lot of unnecessary stuff.
