What considerations do you need to make when buying a new wallet? Take a look at the wallets size: does it fit your front pocket or back pocket? Will the wallet hold up well after extensive use? Is there room in it for everything? Good looks, affordability and usability are also important factors to take into account when getting a wallet.

Is the Trayvax Element affordable, reliable and useful? Let’s find out:

Size

The Trayvax Element is compact and small, at just 4.5 x 2.8 x 0.5 inches. At 5 ounces, it’s also light. You can slip it into your back pocket or front pocket and just forget about it. Its small size also makes it easy to maneuver – you can get to your cards and cash quickly. It’s about half the size of some leather bi-fold and trifold wallets, which is a good thing.

Material

The Element has a steel frame as a base. The stainless steel has been given a Melonite finish, which makes it strong and durable; and also gives it a black patina. If you don’t buy a “Black Edition” version, the frame doesn’t get a Melonite finish and remains silver. The frame is sheathed with top quality leather. The leather is genuine and is the type that ages well, developing a light sheen after use. The leather is bound to the steel frame with the help of an MIL-SPEC Paracord. The material – both the steel and the leather – can take a lot of abuse.

Capacity

The Element is a minimalist wallet. It will take about 3-10 cards and 1-5 bills at maximum capacity. The cards fit in the front of the wallet, while there’s a cash clip at the back. The leather strap around the wallet is meant to be buttoned on, keeping your wallet in place. If you need to get them, you have to unbutton it. There’s a little window in the front for your thumb – you can use it to select the cards you want. Getting to your cash is, likewise, almost effortless.

Usability

The steel frame of the Element has an integrated bottle opener, which can be really convenient. It also has an attachment point, through which you could loop a wrist cord or a carabiner. The frame also has mini grooves at the bottom, which will let you grip the wallet securely. The wallet is easy to hold, carry, and use – and you should be able to use it anywhere and everywhere. If you don’t mind unbuttoning the strap every time to get to your stuff, this wallet has excellent usability.

Looks

The Element is ruggedly good looking. The leather is shiny, as is the black or silver metal frame. You can buy it in black, red, brown, and a mud-green. The black, brown, and mud-green are understated, while the red is a little more stand out. This wallet may look out of place at meetings or formal occasions – but it will get you a lot of attention everywhere else.

Pros

  • Compact and lightweight
  • Decent carrying capacity
  • Durable- can be used everywhere
  • Lifetime warranty
  • Cons

    • Expensive

Should You Buy the Trayvax Element?

We believe the Element is an outstanding wallet if you’re okay with investing a little money. Backed as it is by a lifetime warranty, this wallet will stay with you for many years to come.
